We had a perfect stay at the holiday cottage. The cozy house had a comfortable bed and was surprisingly quiet, despite its proximity to town and roads. The living room, with its fold-out chairs, easily accommodated our family gathering, while the garden provided a convenient space for the dogs to roam. The cottage was well-maintained, clean, and beautifully decorated, blending historical charm with modern amenities. We also enjoyed the town of Bishop Auckland, with its friendly locals, lovely attractions, and nearby coastal and Durham destinations. Kevin, the owner, was welcoming and provided useful information about the cottage and the area. We can't wait to return!
Nothing to dislike! 😊

We had a delightful stay at a lovely cottage in Bishop Auckland. The house was cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Despite being close to town and roads, the area was surprisingly quiet. The cottage was small, but when my family came over, we were able to comfortably gather in the living room with the help of fold-out chairs. It was great to catch up while the dogs enjoyed the garden. I will definitely be returning!
Nothing, it was perfect! 🌟

The cottage was absolutely mind-blowing! It was impeccably maintained, incredibly clean, and beautifully decorated with a touch of history. The modern utilities were a super addition, especially the efficient heating system. We loved the outdoor seating area for morning coffee in the sun, and the beds were so comfortable with high-quality bedding. The town was surprisingly lively and LOVELY, with more to see and enjoy than we anticipated. The cream tea we had at a forties-inspired cafe was jaw-droppingly delicious. The area itself was spectacular, with coastal views within easy reach and a short journey to Durham. The locals were kind, friendly, and welcoming, and our host Kevin went above and beyond with a warm greeting, valuable information. We can't recommend this place highly enough and would love to return.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage! Kevin, the owner, was very friendly and showed us around the property, explaining the parking arrangements. The cottage was small but perfect for the three of us, and it was clean and tidy. The lounge furniture was comfortable, and the kitchen had high-quality appliances. We enjoyed the enclosed and well-maintained garden, and both bedrooms were clean and spacious. This was exactly what we needed for our visit to the nearby family.
Can't fault this property in any way! 😊

The kitchen had very good quality appliances, and the garden was enclosed and well maintained. The owner was friendly and met us at the agreed time, explaining the parking arrangements.
The fridge required adjustment and took some time to cool down. There was a lack of glassware and serving bowls, and the choice of oven trays was limited.

The staff, especially Kevin, the owner, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing us with helpful information about the cottage and the area.
Breakfast offerings could be improved with a wider variety of glassware, serving bowls, and oven trays.

I recently stayed at Bondgate Holiday Cottage for a weekend visit to see family nearby. The cottage was perfect for my needs as a solo traveler with two dogs. The cozy atmosphere and comfortable bed made for a pleasant stay. Despite its proximity to town and roads, it was surprisingly quiet. The living room was spacious enough for a gathering with my parents, sister, and nieces, and the enclosed garden was a great space for the dogs. The cleanliness of the property and the helpfulness of the owner, Kevin, made my stay even better. I will definitely be back!

The cottage was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The location was great, within walking distance to town and near roads. It was also very quiet. The living room was spacious enough for a small gathering and the garden was a nice spot for morning coffee in the sun.
The single bedroom could benefit from a mirror on the wall. The fridge wasn't cooling properly and required adjustment.
